Sam Smith responds to court ruling on who counts as a woman

Sam Smith has delivered a powerful message following the UK Supreme Court's ruling that only biological women — not trans women — meet the legal definition of a woman.

They took to Instagram to post all in caps: 

TRANS PEOPLE EXIST

A WORLD WITHOUT TRANS PEOPLE HAS NEVER EXISTED AND NEVER WILL

TRANS RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS

I AM HEARTBROKEN FOR OUR COMMUNITY
